Our client is a large operational mining company that controls Iron Ore rights to one of the largest tenement portfolios across the Pilbara region. They have a number of exciting projects at varying stages of development and require an experienced Approvals Manager to join the management team. The primary focus of the role is to ensure that the appropriate regulatory and statutory approvals are achieved for this marquee project and a pipeline of additional projects. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that an oversight framework is in place to ensure that project activity conforms to the conditions of any approvals granted. The role involves a significant level of coordination between different stakeholders and the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level. Primary responsibilities are; * Advise, drive and support the development and delivery of a fit for purpose approvals strategy that is aligned to the broader business strategy and organisational goals. * Act as the central point of contact and advice for the Projects Team. * Act as the central point of approvals contact within the Projects Team for key internal stakeholders managing environmental, native title, heritage, land access, works approval etc approvals. * Ensure that appropriate approvals processes and procedures are developed, implemented and monitored for projects at each different stage of management by the Projects Team i.e. scoping, PFS, DFS, in construction to handover. * In conjunction with the Site Manager, ensure that a system of control is in place to ensure owners team approvals requirements are adhered to at the Owners Team and Contractor level. * Coordinate and provide necessary information / reporting to support management reporting to the owners team and financiers in respect of approvals. * Manage any budgeting associated with approvals. * Ensure an appropriate system is in place to transition the approvals management system to the relevant operations head at the time of handover. The successful individual will demonstrate extensive experience in environmental, native title, heritage, and land access management, with significant experience in the mining and/or resource sector, managing approvals for multiple large/complex resource development projects, and a solid knowledge of Western Australian legislation and approvals processes, and Commonwealth legislation.
